FLINT—Some of the world’s finest exotic vehicles will be on display for the 8th Annual Chrome & Ice Indoor Car Show this weekend.
Chrome & Ice, sponsored by General Motors and Dort Financial Credit Union, returns Feb. 10-12 at the Dort Financial Center in Flint. General admission tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for youth ages 12-17. Children under 12 can enter for free. Parking at the arena is $5 at the gates.
Many surprises will be in store for car lovers at this year’s Chrome & Ice, including a collection of high-end luxury models and sports cars in the lobby of the Dort Financial Center. Both arenas and the mezzanine area will be filled with the show’s usual lineup of classic and custom vehicles, muscle cars, hot rods and trucks.
Spectators can also check out rat rods in the Rockabilly Row Tunnel downstairs, plus a Rockabilly show and concert on Saturday. Additionally, there will be more than 50 sponsors and automotive-related vendor displays, demonstrations and concessions during all three days of the event.
Chrome & Ice opens to the public from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, with the VIP Experience starting at 6:30 p.m. The action continues Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. An awards ceremony for the Top 25 Best of Show cars will start at 3 p.m. on Sunday.
Brought back by popular demand is the VIP Experience on Friday night from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. This year’s theme is Casino Night presented by Suski Chevrolet, featuring craps, slots, roulette and blackjack tables. Each VIP Experience participant will be awarded tickets to exchange for chips to play. At the end of the night, guests can cash in their winnings for tickets to win amazing prizes.
The VIP Experience will also present a concert headlined by local band Square Lucy and featuring Elvis on stage.
A VIP ticket includes complimentary adult beverages at any of several bars in the arena, gourmet hors d’oeuvres and dessert on the walkway above the Green Arena from 6:30-8 p.m., compliments of Dort Financial.
Proceeds from Chrome & Ice and the VIP Experience will support the Back to the Bricks Youth Scholarship Fund.
