INDEPENDENCE TWP. — The David W. Elliott Memorial Foundation has donated funds to many positive causes in the Clarkston area over the past several years and recently approved a grant of $4,000 to the Clarkston Community Schools Construction Tech Program to be used for additional tools needed for students and staff.
“We need to train our future contractors and skilled trades people,” said Foundation President Henry Woloson. “This is an excellent program to enable students to explore if construction ‘tech’ is in their future.”
CCS Construction Trades instructor Adam Gorring noted that “it is great to have the support of the Clarkston community and specifically, the David W. Elliott Memorial Foundation.”
“They have been supporting us from our very beginning with funding for tools, scaffolding, and other supplies,” Gorring said. “We hope programs like ours are providing a service to our students and community, so to have groups reach out with such generosity helps us to know we are on the right track.
“We thank them for their kindness and can confidently say what they are doing is making a difference in the lives of our Clarkston students.”
