The following motions were made and passed:
APPROVE: Resolution No. 2023-021 to Adopt a Four-Day Work Week as presented
APPROVE: Transfer of $200,000.00 from the Fire Operating Budget to Municipal Employees’ Retirement System of Michigan located at 1134 Municipal Way, Lansing, MI 48917
ACCEPT: Bid Proposals for interior facilities improvements for the Independence Township Department of Public Works in an amount not to exceed $1,326,836.00 and Fire Station #1 in an amount not to exceed $1,739,543.00 as submitted by George W Auch Company (AUCH Company) of Pontiac, Michigan pursuant to Section 3.2 Competitive Sealed Bidding Procurement Procedures of the Township Procurement-Petty Cash Credit Card Policy and direct the Supervisor to sign the proposals as the authorized representative of the Township
APPROVE: Additional project funding of $50,000.00 for the Department of Public Works for mobile office solutions, appliances, and technology services and $80,000.00 for the Fire Department for appliances and technology services required for project completion
ACCEPT: Proposal for interior furnishings for the Independence Township Department of Public Works in an amount not to exceed $93,553.00 and Fire Station #1 in an amount not to exceed $154,913.00 as submitted by ISCG of Royal Oak, Michigan Pursuant to Section 1.6 Cooperative and Extended Purchasing and 3.2 Procurement Procedures of the Township Procurement-Petty Cash Credit Card Policy and direct the Supervisor to sign the proposals as the authorized representative of the Township
APPROVE: Transfer of Funds from Fire Operating Fund to Fire Capital Improvement Plan Fund in the amount of $1,974,456.00 and Approve 2023 Budget Amendment #36 as presented
APPROVE: Participation in the Proposed Settlements regarding Aqueous Film Forming Foams Product Liability Litigation and direct the Township DPW Director to submit the applicable claims form(s) to participate in the proposed settlements, and to authorize the DPW Director and Township Attorney to retain the Edelson Law Firm with the condition the contract will be brought back to the Board for approval
APPROVE: 2023 Budget Amendment #37 as presented
BUDGET SESSION: Review of 2024 Budgets for Sewer & Water CIP, Sewer, Water, Sashabaw Regional Drain and Downtown Development Authority Funds
