Caitlin Clemence and Shannon Doyle have high hopes for their senior year on the soccer field at Lake Orion High School. But their first three years were good enough to net them college scholarships.
Clemence, a defensive specialist, has committed to the University of Detroit.
Doyle, meanwhile, will play on at Oakland University.
A midfielder, Doyle has scored seven goals and added 15 assists in her first three seasons at the varsity level.
‘Shannon is tough and smart and has been a difference maker on our team,? said Coach Ken Snage. ‘Speed and quickness are wonderful assets that she brings to the game.?
The daughter of Jim and Becki Doyle, Shannon has also been an all-league and all-district selection multiple times.
Like Doyle, Clemence will be considered for captaincy in the upcoming season.
‘It’s been great having a player with strong determination and excellent character,? Snage said of Clemence.
‘Caitlin has had a good three years as a varsity standout and was our lockdown defender that played against our opponent’s top scorer.?
The coach added that Clemence, the daughter of Keith and Sharon, ‘produced for our team in ways that reflect on the scoreboard.?
The LOHS girls? soccer team starts practice on March 10, with their first game scheduled for the following weekend.
