The front of the FED restaurant in downtown Clarkston has a historic clock and outdoor dining on a deck, but the alley side looks nice too, thanks to a mural painted by artist Ryanne Shiner of Waterford.
The art teacher at Springfield Plains Elementary School spent about 50 hours painting the eagle mural, starting on the Fourth of July.
Owner Sarah Schneider commissioned the work, providing ideas for the imagery and words to represent the community and restaurant, said Shiner.
“It’s been really fun, people stopping by to talk and give feedback,” she said.
