Clarkston Everest Collegiate Cross Country welcomed 14 schools and over 170 runners as they held their first meet at the school.
The Mountaineers, in their second season, held the Catholic High School League Division 3 Jamboree on Oct. 10.
During the meet, the Lady Mountaineers finished in fifth place with 121 points.
Junior Mia Korns led Everest as she finished in ninth place at 24:00.7.
The top five runners also included sophomore Kate Funke finished in 20th place, 24:40.3; junior Kirsty Liu, 31st, 25:24.8; senior Elise Allard, 44th, 26:59.1; and Katherine Engle, 48th, 27:26.5.
The team also includes senior Monica Williams who finished at 27:29.9 during the CHSL Jamboree; sophomore Molly Milosch, 28:07.7; freshman Anna Allard, 28:47.2; sophomore Rachel Scott, 35:39.5; sophomore Nina Baker, 36:00.8; freshman Margaret Smith, 38:18.2; and junior Leah Radich, 39:09.2.
Grosse Pointe Woods University Liggett finished in first place with 46 points. Allen Park Cabrini finished in second, 66; Ann Arbor Greenhills, third, 85; Madison Heights Bishop Foley, fourth, 103; Riverview Gabriel Richard, sixth, 132; Academy of the Sacred Heart, seventh, 165; West Bloomfield Frankel Jewish Academy, eighth, 206; and Detroit Cristo Rey, ninth, 265.
“The team extends a special thank you to Brian Milosch, Charlie Burns, Tim Smith, and all the other Everest dads who helped to get the course ready for the event,” said Mary Williams, Cross Country and Track Coach. “The team looks forward to hosting future events on our beautiful campus.”
The Lady Mountaineers competed in the 33rd Annual Gabriel Richard Invitational on Saturday.
The Lady Mountaineers compete in the CHSL Championship Meet at Kensington Metro Park on Saturday before they compete in the MHSAA Lower Peninsula Region 35, Division 4 meet on October 28.
