The Wolves ruled the links as they topped a field of 16 teams during their most recent tournament.
The Clarkston Girls Varsity team finished in first place at Lady Falcon Invite at Stoney Creek Metropark, Aug. 27 with a 332 score.
“We did really well,” said Lezlie Hallman, head coach. “Out of the seven players on the varsity team six are seniors and one is a freshman. We played four seniors and our freshman, and three of them placed in the top ten. It is a veteran team. They know what they need to do. They just have to get out there and have those good days, those low scores and we are good to go.”

Claudia Sampson led the team finishing in fifth place with a 79 par. Ashley Liles followed closely in sixth place with a 80 and Elin Gebrowsky tied for eighth place with an 84. Payton Greenlee finished with a 89 par for the day.
Hallman added the girls played the tournament the last three years and the course can get tough at times. Plus, the weather got warmer during the last three to four holes.
“They pulled it off,” she said. “I can’t say enough about how proud of them I am. They just never cease to amaze me on their dedication and working hard to better themselves. The whole group of people we play against, all the teams, it’s just a good group of young ladies.”
Bloomfield Hills finished in second place with 339; Eisenhower, third, 350; Detroit Country Day, fourth, 359; and Stoney Creek, fifth, 361.
The Wolves next tournament is the Oakland County Championship at Pontiac County.
