Clarkston Varsity Hockey continues to improve and this winter finished the season with a 19-7 overall record.
“It certainly was a successful season,” said Karl Daiek, head coach.
The boys finished the season against Orchard Lake St. Mary’s Prep, which was close going int the third period, 3-2. The Eaglets scored three goals after penalties slowed the Wolves down.

“It shows we can play with that caliber of a team,” Daiek said.
Out of their wins during the regular season they had two games they won by mercy and shutout when they defeated Oxford/Avondale, 9-0; and Walled Lake Central/Waterford United, 10-0.
They posted a shutout against crosstown rivals Lake Orion, 6-0.
The Wolves had three mercy wins over Milford, 9-1; Notre Dame Prep, 10-1; West Bloomfield, 11-2.
They opened playoffs with a 9-1 mercy win over Walled Lake Central/Waterford United in the regional semifinals, Feb. 28.

They graduate seniors Ryan Bolio, Jackson Cooper, Trevor Gilman, Nik Highducheck, Austin McKay, Danny Milano, Brendan Tungol, Sindre Simonsen, Drew Stark and Brendan Walk.
Bolio received 2nd Team All-State honors. Stark, Milano, McKay, Walk and Bolio received All State Academic Honors.
“We had some seniors with the program all three of my years,” Daiek said, adding two seniors played for the team for four years. “The legacy to me is of determination and never quit atmosphere. Winston Churchill once said ‘success is not final. Failure is not fatal. It is courage to continue that counts.’ It is easy to look and say I don’t want to do this again, it was embarrassing. But to stick with it and reap some of the rewards like last year 15 wins was a good step. This year 19 wins, another good step. It’s a sign of kids willing to stick it out. For the guys here 3-4 years that’s their legacy, and they built it to what it is today.”
