Residents voted, March 10, to renew the County Art Institute Authority Millage, which supports the Detroit Institute of Arts, with 75.73 percent voting “yes.”
In the City of the Village of Clarkston, 39.47 percent of registered voters cast ballots, 240 voting “yes” and 87, “no.” In Independence Township were 6,611 “yes” votes, 63.5 percent; and 3,800 votes against, 36.5 percent; 37 percent turnout. Springfield Township had a 32.7 percent turnout, with 2,299 “yes” votes and 1,388 “no” votes.
Renewal of Clarkston Community Schools Operating Millage Proposal was approved with 7,827 “yes” votes, 64.15 percent; and 4,375 voting “no,” 35.85 percent, out of a total of 12,202 votes cast.
In the presidential primary in Oakland County, for the Democratic nomination, Joe Biden earned the most votes, 145,408, 56.04 percent of the total, with Bernie Sanders in second place, 86,666 votes, 33.40 percent. For the Republican nomination, Donald J. Trump received 84,824 votes, 92.81 percent.
