Nathan James Calhoun, a 28-year-old resident of Brandon Township suspected in committing multiple breaking and enterings at convenience stores in Oakland County during the early morning hours of May 17, was arrested on May 20.
The break-ins took place in Orion Township, Brandon Township, and Independence Township.
At 2:07 a.m. on May 17, Independence Township deputies were conducting extra surveillance of the Sunoco gas station, 7650 Ortonville Road, due to the other break-ins that had been reported. They observed a red 1998 Chevrolet Camaro leaving the area and pulled over the car, which was driven by Calhoun, and discovered items from the break-ins including a bandana, latex gloves, burglary tools, and items taken from the businesses.
Calhoun received a $10,000 cash/surety 10% bond requiring a tether prior to release. His next court appearance date is June 1.
Detectives are investigating five other break-ins in the area, and additional charges may be issued.
