25 years ago – 1997
“Something to shout about” Clarkston Community Schools was well-represented at Summit Place Mall for the six-hour event called “Public Schools…Public Pride.” Superintendent Dr. Al Roberts was in attendance with Clarkston High School, Andersonville and Springfield Plains elementaries stationed at tables.
“Crafty lady opens sewing shop” Clarkston resident Rosemarie De Boer, the plucky owner of Sew It Seams, a new shop at the corner of Oak Hill Road and M-15, weaves as much warmth and wit into her conversations as she threads through her tapestries.
“Hockey team records its biggest win ever” Clarkston Varsity Hockey’s 5-3 win over fourth-ranked Port Huron Northern gave the Wolves some statewide credibility, something hard to come by for a first-year program.

50 years ago – 1972
“Greene doubts latest school proposal” Clarkston’s Superintendent of Schools Dr. Leslie F. Greene had his doubts that a recommendation which would combine Clarkston with other suburban areas with the Pontiac School District would ever come to fruition.
“Kim in finals” Clarkston Junior Miss Kim Blasey was set to compete in the 1972 Michigan Miss pageant on Feb. 4 and 5 at Pontiac Northern High School.
“Around the township” Mr. and Mrs. Richard Gallo were new residents of Rattalee Lake Road. They were originally from Warren, Michigan. They have one daughter, Beth, who was attending Oakland Christian School of Bloomfield Hills at the time.

75 years ago – 1947
“Group toboggans on hill at Green Acres” Last Sunday afternoon Sheldon Covert of Watkins Lake was host to some friends at a tobogganing party on the hill at Green Acres Inn. The young people had a grand time sliding then had a hot snack at the inn.
“Clarkston Wolves defeat Fraser” The Clarkston Boys Varsity Basketball team defeated Fraser in the Clawson gym by a a score of 52-22. The game was decidedly one-sided with the Wolves keeping the lead in all four quarters.
“Clarkston locals” Mr. and Mrs. Charles S. Matthews returned to their home late last Saturday afternoon after enjoying a trip to Quebec City in Canada. They stayed at the Chateau Frontenae.
