Move aside Justice League, Avengers: Endgame was the most anticipated movie of all time. It’s the most popular movie of 2019, raking in a whopping $2.79 billion worldwide at the box office opening weekend. Marvel fans are surely not to be messed with! This jaw-dropping, breathtaking, astonishing film will make you laugh, cry, smile, and stay on the edge of your seat in its entire three hour run time. It is certainly the best film that the MCU has given us thus far, nothing can even come close to the feelings that this film will give you.
The Russo brothers have done it again. Fans have been raving about Avengers: Endgame since before it was even released. It’s no doubt Marvel Cinematic Universe has become one of the most popular franchises of all time, beginning with titles like Iron Man, and Captain America: The First Avenger, and growing into even more and more incredible films for 11 total years total of pure entertainment, joy, and all our beloved characters. With every movie added in the MCU, we see a new piece of the puzzle is added, pulling everything together but still leaving you with intense cliff-hangers, and wondering what will happen within the next coming films. With every film that comes along, Marvel fans get to see something new come their way. Whether it was discovering who the identity of the Winter Soldier was in Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014), or seeing all your favorite characters disappear into thin air in Avengers: Infinity War (2018). Marvel Studios has certainly outdone themselves with everything they’ve brought to the table in the past years, and Avengers: Endgame is the grand finale everyone was waiting for.
For years, people all around the world have predicted the outcome of 11 years of Marvel entertainment. It’s been described as the ultimate finale for the whole franchise, and all 21 movies leading up to it are just as amazing as the last. From Guardians of the Galaxy, to Ant-man and the Wasp, Endgame has gotten so much hype over the past what seems to be four years, and I’m here to say that every ounce of it is completely true, no movie I’ve ever seen in my entire life can compare to how insanely amazing this film was. After Avengers: Infinity War (2018), fans were left with heartbreak and what they called “Post Infinity War Depression,” as they watched all their beloved characters they grew up with for 10 years fade away into thin air like they were nothing. The heroes tried desperately to stop Thanos from acquiring all six infinity stones, and snapping half the population out of existence, but it was a loss for them, unfortunately. We were left to mourn the loss of our favorite characters, from Pom Klementieff’s Mantis, to Tom Holland’s Spider-Man. Everyone knew that these characters had to be avenged.
Beginning to end, Endgame is jam packed with plot twists, and suspense, it can make you feel anger, grief, sadness, excitement, and even frustration, all within one scene. But, every single feeling is completely justified. One thing is for certain, the actors and actresses apart of this film made it into something amazing unlike anything you’d ever seen. All our original Avengers and Guardians (Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Karen Gillan, Brie Larson, Paul Rudd, and Bradley Cooper), work desperately through the film to formulate a plan to stop Thanos, and return things to how they used to be. Along the way there are so many surprises, whether characters discovering themselves for the first time, or even taking a look into the future or maybe even their past, and discovering why they are who they are today.
To say that this movie is incredible is an understatement, it goes so much further than just fun entertainment and good laughs. Endgame and all MCU films can teach us valuable lessons about life, whether it be us discovering our true colors, us realizing we’re not alone in whatever we’re going through, or just simply learning the true meaning of forgiveness and love. No other movie in the world can teach you what Endgame can teach you, and nothing can even come close. Get ready to laugh, get ready to sob too, experiencing this film is something that you will crave over and over again after seeing it just once, it definitely is the experience of a lifetime you won’t ever regret.
