Blackhawk cheer team off to record season

Not only did the Brandon competitive cheer team take first place at their first competition, Cheer Coaches Association of Michigan (CCCAM) at Stoney Creek, they also set all time records. On Dec. 15 the girls beat out Divine Child, St. Clair, and Notre Dame Prep. In rounds one, two and three, the team received 198, 204.98, and 262.50 totaling 665.48 points. Round two was more than 200 points and that was a record for the Brandon Cheer Program.
‘The dedication of the team is what really pulled the team together,? says Jamie Slot, Brandon High School varsity competitive cheer coach.
‘The theme this year is, taking it to the next level, in which the girls are pushing harder than ever before; mentally and physically.?
The Brandon Cheer team will compete again at 9 a.m. Jan. 26 at the Davison Invitational.
