The Brandon Blackhawks extended the Goodrich Martians? losing streak from one to two games Jan. 9.
The game ended in overtime with a 4-3 win for Brandon. The Blackhawks have eliminated Goodrich from the playoffs three of the last four years. During the first period, the scoreboard didn’t get touched, but that didn’t last into the second period. The Goodrich Martians scored two goals, and Brandon answered with a goal. Mitchell Syrowik had the first goal for the Martians, and he was assisted by Kyle Arwood. Joe Zito had the second goal for Goodrich and was assisted by Trevor Troupe.
Chris Easton assisted by Zito and Syrowik scored for Goodrich. The game was won in overtime when Brandon scored the final goal. Michael Underwood made 40 saves during the game. Goodrich’s overall record is 4-7-1.
Goodrich will play Durand Jan. 16 at the Polar Palace.
The Blackhawks will play Linden at 5 p.m. on Jan. 23 at the Polar Palace.
