The Brandon girls varsity swim team finished eighth out of 10 teams Sept. 27-29 at the Genesee County swim meet. Stephanie Peck placed seventh in the 500 yard freestyle, and 11th in the 200 yard freestyle. In the 200 yard freestyle relay, Brandon placed 6th, and in the 400 yard freestyle relay they placed 5th. Megan Kennedy placed 14th in the 200 yard IM (Individual Medley), and 500 yard freestyle.
On Oct. 9 the Brandon team challenged Lakeland High School. The girls came in first, with 79 overall points, 28 points ahead of the Lakeland High School.
Senior Caitlan Williams came in first in the 200 yard freestyle, and second in the 500 yard freestyle. Senior Alexandra Noonan came in sixth in the 200 yard freestyle, and sixth in the 500 yard freestyle. Stephanie Peck came in second for Brandon in the 200 yard IM. Shannon Penix finished first in the 50 yard freestyle, and second in the 100 yard freestyle.
The team’s league record is 1-0, and 1-4-1 overall.
The team’s next home game is Oct. 18 vs. the Oxford Wildcats.
