Bond, Doan lead Brandon girls track at SVSU meet

Despite Brandon finishing in the lower half of teams at the Saginaw Valley State Division 2 girls meet April 23, a couple Blackhawks provided some highlights.
The Blackhawks finished sixth out of nine teams at the meet, finishing with 68 points. Chippewa Hills finished first with 129 points, while Linden was second with 97 and Yale third with 82.
Sarah Bond had a big day for the Blackhawks, capturing Brandon’s only win of the day as she took the shot put with a throw of 32?10?. Bond also finished second in the discus with a throw of 89?6?.
Kayla Doan nabbed Brandon’s other second place finish of the day, earning second in the 800 meters with a time of 2:35.15. Doan also earned a third place finish in the 1600 meters with a time of 5:52.66.
