Cheerleaders have giving spirit for Christmas

They have the spirit to get the crowd going during a home game.
But Clarkston Varsity Cheerleaders do not keep their spirit limited to only sporting events ? they give their spirit to the whole community, especially during the Christmas season.
Coach Chandra Price approached the girls and asked them what they thought about adopting a Clarkston area family.
The girls immediately said yes.
‘I thought it would be nice to give something to someone who didn’t have a lot for Christmas,? said senior Paige Semaan on why she wanted to help.
Each of the 21 girls on the team received a piece of paper with a gift to give one of the members of the family.
The team knew little about the family they had adopted. They knew their names, ages, sizes and what toys to look for.
They brought all the gift-wrapped presents to practice last Friday for them to be taken to their next location.
‘I think it’s wonderful,? said Price. ‘They couldn’t be happier to help out and it was nice to see them give back.?
The team was all smiles while talking about the family they had adopted and echoed the same sentiments ? they felt good giving back and were happy to give Christmas to a family.
The girls also helped with Lindsey Friend’s spaghetti dinner fundraiser on Dec. 5. They made the desserts and worked at the event at for the JV cheerleader suffering from amnesia.
The team helped Lighthouse at the beginning of the school year by donating school supplies.
‘The team is very giving. They show a lot of compassion,? said Price.
