CHS ski teams finish at top of divisions

The Clarkston Boys and Girls Varsity Ski teams were able to get their divisional race before rain and warmer temperatures could slow them down on the slopes.
The girls finished in the Pine Knob High School League for all season and also second for the combined Giant Slalom and Slalom Divisional races, Feb. 7.
They finished in second place in the Giant Slalom with 35 points.
Phoebe Savoie finished in sixth place, with a combined time of 37.41. Top finishes came from Sydney Thomas in eighth place in 38.53; Cameron Brosky, tenth, 38.79; Cameron Thomas, 11th, 38.97; Jenna Brown, 15th, 39.57; and Sydney Draksler, 35th, 43.37.
They finished in second place in the Slalom race with 34 points.
S. Thomas led the Wolves in the the Slalom, finishing in third place in the combined time of 44.19. Top finishes also included Savoie in eighth place in 45.38; Brown, 11th, 46.78; C. Thomas, 12th, 47.11; Lucy Roeser, 16th, 48.84; and Elke Roeser, 32nd, 53.53.
Notre Dame Prep finished in first place overall in the division for the season; Clarkston, second; Bloomfield Hills, third; Cranbrook and Rochester Adams, tied for fourth; Rochester and Detroit Country Day, tied for sixth; Lake Orion, eighth, Stoney Creek, ninth; Avondale/Troy, tenth.
The Wolves finished with a 8-1 record in the Pine Knob High School League.
The Clarkston Boys Varsity Ski team finished third for the season and second in the divisional race, putting them third overall.
They finished second place in the Giant Slalom Divisional Championship.
Noah Ostheimer led the team finishing in fifth place in the combined time of 37.01. Top finishes also included Sawyer Haiss in ninth place, 37.83; Max Ashley, 13th, 38.25; Evan Savoie, 23rd, 39.46; and Ryan Bushroe, 27th, 39.72.
They finished fourth place in the Slalom race. Haiss led the team, finishing in ninth place with a combined time of 43.46. Ashley tied for 20th place, 46.61; E. Savoie, 23rd, 46.94; Bushroe, 24th, 46.96.
Notre Dame Prep finished in first place overall in the division for the season; Rochester Adams, second; Clarkston, third; Bloomfield Hills and Lake Orion, tied for fourth; Stoney Creek, sixth; Cranbrook, seventh, Rochester and Avondale/Troy, tied for eighth; Berkley/Troy Athens, tenth; Detroit Country Day, 11th; and Waterford United, 12th.
The Wolves finished with a 8-3 record in the Pine Knob league.
Clarkston opened this week with the regional races on Monday. Both teams qualified for the SEMSL Championships at Mt. Holly, Feb 21.
