Community Impact this weekend

Volunteers are needed for Community Impact Weekend, this Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 2-3, to work on projects for low-income families, senior citizens, those with special needs, non-profit organizations, food pantries, and local schools in the Clarkston and surrounding areas.
The weekend includes opportunities for all ages and abilities, inside and outside, including rake-and-run yard cleanups, letter writing to troops overseas, and food pantry and kitchen service. Licensed builders, electricians, plumbers and other skilled trades can volunteer for the Repair and Run ministry, helping homeowners with minor home and auto repairs, but who are unable to perform the repairs themselves and can’t afford to hire someone. Projects are submitted through local religious and civic organizations.
Projects in need of volunteers included fence construction at an Independence Township home, quilting for Sanctum House, grounds cleanup at Calvary’s Pontiac orchard, horse farm cleanup at O.A.T.S., and other indoor and outdoor work.
