Clarkston Schools’ Superintendent Dr. Rod Rock chats with Jonah Robbins while strolling down the sidewalk.
Second graders from Clarkston Elementary enjoyed the annual history tour of downtown Clarkston on Friday, June 3.
The tour included stops at historical landmarks such as the Clarkston United Methodist Church, The Clarkston News, Clarkston Union, Wilson residence, Roeser residence, Dubeck residence, Luginski residence and the Frayer Barn.
As a part of required reading before the tours, second graders read a Clarkston heritage book, where they learn highlighted historical moments such as the Clarkston fire that burned down the building next to the Clarkston News or the famous bank robbery where the money was hid in horse manure.
