Everest senior Audrey Stafford had an uplifting summer, taking part in activities with ECYD, an acronym that stands for Encounters, Convictions, Your Decisions.
ECYD is an international Catholic youth organization that draws young people into a friendship with Christ.
“This summer, I had the incredible opportunity to be an ECYD missionary,” Stafford said. “I was sent to Chile with six other girls from various parts of the world, and we became like sisters as we devoted our summer to helping others. We worked in Regnum Christi schools, just like Everest, and we spent a lot of time preparing and organizing fun activities for the ECYD in those schools. We went on missions, planned retreats, gave presentations and talks to young girls and guys, and even built houses for a weekend.”
Stafford said she also grew on a personal level.
“Chile taught me countless lessons, but I think the most important thing I learned was to trust Christ with my life and love Him behind closed doors, while also having the courage to put myself out there and be a leader,” said Stafford.
