One man ended up in serious condition and the northbound lanes of I-75 were closed last Friday, January 7, after a shooting in Springfield Township near Exit 98.
A suspect was arrested Monday and detectives believe the shooting was not random.
According to Michigan State Police, the man was driving northbound just after noon when an unknown person shot at his car, the bullet hitting him. He was then rushed to an area hospital.
Reports say police were looking for a white Audi sedan, which exited I-75 at Holly Road after the shooting and continued driving in an unknown direction. A description of the driver was not available as of last Friday afternoon.
Police did not say what led to the shooting.
Most of the northbound lanes of I-75 were reopened around 3 p.m., while a police K-9 team was searching the freeway for evidence.
