Gardening for birds will be the focus of the final meeting of the year for the Clarkston-area Backyard Birders Club, Nov. 27.
Guest speaker Cheryl English, Advanced Master Gardener and Master Composter, will talk about gardening for birds and the bushes, trees and plants that birds need for food, shelter, and nesting.
Mike Dougherty, wildlife photographer and Board member of North Oakland Headwaters Land Conservancy, will present a film on habitat protection which benefits birds and other sensitive wildlife.
The club has grown in two years to 137 members from its original group of 18, with 40-50 attendees as the monthly meetings.
“We have no charges or fees of any kind,” Bob McGowan added. “We provide complimentary coffee and homemade baked goods. Dress is casual, no reservations are required. Our meetings are open to the public and we encourage folks to bring a friend.”
The meeting is held at Gateway Lifestyle Shops at 7150 North Main Street, 7 p.m.
