The Goodrich Martians varsity football team fell short with their fifth game on the road against Lapeer East 34-22 on Sept. 21.
Goodrich completed three touchdowns, a 1-yard run by Goodrich’s Grant Overcashier. Matt Burnor ran a 7-yard touchdown, and the third was run to the end zone by Matt Zito.
‘The game was good and bad,? said Tom Alward, Goodrich varsity football coach. ‘We were ahead at half time, we had the opportunity to win, but we didn’t take advantage of it. The team is making improvements that need to be made.?
Their record is now 1-4. Next game: Lakeville, Oct. 5.
