Mountaineer Update for September 15, 2021

The Clarkston Everest Collegiate Boys Varsity Soccer team posted three shut outs last week as they scored 18 goals on their opponents.
The Mountaineers finished the week on Saturday with a 7-0 win against Mooney at home. Tito Fortuny led with two goals. Luke Walker and Zach Felix had one goal each. Twins Mark and Isaac Cross as well as brother Lucas Cross also scored one goal each in the win.
Everest finished their home game against Parkway Christian in a 8-0 mercy win. Mark led with four goals, Lucas had three goals and Isaac had one goal.
The Mountaineers opened the week with a 3-0 win over Genesee Christian, Sept. 7. Mark, Isaac and Lucas Cross each scored one goal.

The Clarkston Everest JV Volleyball team had a 2-1 victory over Greenhills on Sept. 8, 17-25, 26-24, 15-12.
The varsity team lost to Greenhills, 3-1. They won the third set in a close 26-24 win. They lost three sets, 25-22, 25-20, 25-12.

Clarkston Everest Collegiate Girls Cross Country team finished the Small School Invite at Oakland Christian School top finishes.
They finished in second place in the varsity race with four medalists in the top 15.
Junior Alyse Felix led the team finishing in ninth place in the time of 22:06.6. Junior Caroline Cross finished in tenth place in the time of 22:16.7; senior Avery Herrgott, 11th place, 22:25.4; freshman Erica Walker, 12thplace, 22:37.5; sophomore Eve Herrgott, 19th place, 23:23.2; and freshman Olivia Leahy, 31st place, 24:05.7.
Rochester Hills Lutheran Northwest finished in first place out of nine teams with 32 points. Everest finished second with 42 points; Michigan Athletic Club for Homeschoolers, third, 56; Oakland Christian, fourth, 58; and Royal Oak Shrine, fifth, 74.
The Mountaineers finished in first place in the JV race out of six teams with 32 points. They had three runners receive ribbons for finishing in the top ten. They had six runners take spots in the top 20.
Junior Stephanie Suran led with a third place finish in the time of 24:20.3; senior Celine Legg, eighth, 25:36.8; junior Jessie Burns, tenth, 25:56.3; freshman Natalie Cross, 11th, 25:59.6; senior Emily Callaghan, 12th, 26:07.8; junior Allison Tong, 14th, 26:47.4; and sophomore Erin Carr, 18th, 28:13.8.
The Mountaineers had 14 season records and set five new personal records.
Everest competed in the Catholic High School League Cardinal Jamboree on Tuesday. They compete on Saturday in the 53rd Holly/Duane Raffin Festival at Springfield Oaks County Park.

Everest Collegiate Varsity Football won their home game against Breckenridge at Clarkston High School on Friday, 50-37.
The Mountaineers took the lead in the first 16 seconds with a touchdown and a PAT.
They scored again with a fumble recovery by Aidan Beauchamp and the Mountaineers scored immediately after to lead 14-0 in the first two minutes.
Breckenridge scored a touchdown which was answered by Everest with a field goal to end the quarter 17-6.
The Mountaineers finished the first half with a 34-12 lead.
