Township Board picks
in Independence

Supervisor Pat Kittle, Clerk Barbara Pallotta, Treasurer Paul Brown, and trustees Jose Aliaga, Rachel Loughrin, Ron Ritchie and Andrea Schroeder were elected to the Independence Township Board in last week’s vote.
All ran unopposed, having earned their Republican nominations in August. No Democrats ran in the race.
Kittle received 14,730 votes; Pallotta, 14,347; Brown, 14,240; and for trustee, Aliaga received 12,726; Schroeder, 12,471; Loughrin, 12,151; and Ritchie, 12,120.
Turnout in the township was 74.78 percent, 20,707 voting out of 27,692. Turnout was 73.49 percent in the 2012 election.

Springfield vote

In Springfield Township, all candidates also ran unopposed as Republicans.
Collin Walls was reelected supervisor with 6,053 votes; Laura Moreau, clerk, with 6,011 votes; and Jamie L. Dubre, treasurer, 6,000 votes. For trustee, Marc Cooper received 5,335 votes; Judy Hensler, 5,288; Dave Hopper, 5,144; and Denny Vallad, 5,074.
