At the August 26 meeting of the Clarkston-Area Backyard Birders, Steve Stroud, owner of The Gateway, host site of the club meetings, will speak on preparing for the upcoming fall migration and the inevitable cooler weather as familiar migrants will soon be headed south.
Also on the agenda will be members’ reports of sightings, a popular and important portion of the club’s meetings.
Members and newcomers are encouraged to come to the meetings prepared with reports of sightings as well as questions.
All meetings are held at The Gateway, 7150 North Main Street, beginning at 7 p.m. There are no charges, no reservations are required, and all meetings are open to the public, informal and casual. Free coffee and baked goods are donated by members. A popular raffle features interesting prizes.
The meeting is held outdoors on the patio and gardens area set up to comply with all health and safety requirements. There will be a section with social distance spacing, as well as a section where couples and family members can be seated together. Face masks are required.
