At the Nov. 27 Clarkston City Council meeting, the items to vote on a new councilmember to take the place of new Mayor Sue Wylie and a new Historic District Commission commissioner to fill the open position until July 2024 were tabled until the Dec. 11 meeting, still within the 30-day appointment requirement, as Wylie and Mayor Pro Tem Laura Rodgers were absent.

A motion to accept the 2022-23 fiscal year financial audit as presented by City Auditor Rana Emmons was approved.
A resolution to approve a retainer agreement with Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) consultant Carlito Young was approved for $190/hour on an as-used basis.
A public hearing was held for the allocation of the city’s 2024 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds of $7,000. After discussion, council voted to allocate $5,000 to the Independence Township Senior Center Transportation Program and $2,000 to the Clarkston Area Youth Assistance (CAYA) program.
