The Oxford Varsity Competitive Cheer team hosted a successful competition on Dec. 13 for the Competitive Cheer Coaches Association.
“The girls performed pretty well this weekend,” said coach Kristy Gibson-Marshall.
In the morning, the ladies finished first in their bracket and qualified for the top pool. In the afternoon session, Oxford took sixth in the top bracket. In Round 1 they received 174 points, Round 2 169.5 and Round 3 230.5.
“The rounds were solid for this early,” said Gibson-Marshall, “the skills were weak though. The girls need additional gymnastics training.”
“All of the scores were low, but representative of the time of year.”
