Oxford sends 310 grads into the world

It was a packed house at Oakland University’s O’rena in Rochester on Sunday as over 300 Oxford High School seniors proudly walked across the stage to receive their long-awaited diplomas.
A total of 310 seniors graduated from OHS this year (302 actually walked), 121 of which did so with varying degrees of honors.
Thirty-two students graduated with highest honors, achieving Grade Point Averages between 3.8 and 4.0
The 44 seniors who earned GPAs of 3.5 to 3.79 graduated with high honors.
Graduating with honors were 45 seniors possessing GPAs ranging from 3.2 to 3.49.
Bradly Crosson was bestowed the highest honor a graduating Wildcat can receive ? the Oxford Cup.
Since 1930, the prized silver cup has been awarded at commencement to the graduating senior who encompassed ‘the whole package.?
Selected by a vote of the junior and senior classes along with OHS faculty, the winner must exhibit proficiency in scholarship, friendly social qualities, well-balanced physical development and superior school citizenship.
Crosson was completely shocked and surprised that he won the cup.
‘I did not see this coming,? he said as he thanked the crowd.
Other highlights of this year’s commencement were speeches by class president, Laura Brown, as well as Oxford’s Top 10, including Justin Ziegelbaur, Jacob Smuda, Kathryn Burt, Matthew Deighton, Jennifer Smillie, Michael Brendel, Caitlin Checkeroski, Adam Heskitt, Andrew Stein and Amanda Teller.
Each of them shared their words of wisdom and well-wishes for the Class of 2008 as they embark into the ‘real world.?
