The city’s previously announced plans to repave Depot Road this fall are moving forward, piggybacking on an existing (vetted-price) contract the Road Commission of Oakland County has with paving company Ace-Saginaw, according to City Manager Jonathan Smith.
“You’ll be happy to know that over $100,000 (83%) of the cost of this project will be coming from the federal government’s American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) and Oakland County’s Local Road Improvement Program (LRIP) grant,” said Smith. “We recently learned that RCOC is planning on piggybacking on our piggybacking project and will repave W. Washington, S. Holcomb, and White Lake Road at the same time as the Depot Road project. We’re hopeful we can get all four roads repaved before winter, and yes, that will include the repair of the sunken manhole cover on S. Holcomb at W. Church Street.”
