- September 12, 2023 Check Run Including ACH ($1,654,085.64) and Ratify the September 1, 2023 Payroll ($335,335.67)
- Agreement for Election Services (Early Voting Site) Between Oakland County, Independence Township, and the City of the Village of Clarkston
The following motions were made and passed:
APPROVE: 2023 Tax Rate Request (L-4029) and adopt the Charter Township of Independence 2023 Millage Rates for the 2024 budget year as presented
APPROVE: Re-Appropriation of Capital Improvement dollars from the Bay Court Maintenance Garage to the Bay Court Playground and approve the Budget Adjustment as presented
APPROVE: 2023 Budget Amendment #30 as presented
APPROVE: Payment of $50,000.00 toward the estimated cost of $250,000.00 for a HAWK Traffic Signal; and an additional $1,000.00 each year for maintenance of the HAWK Traffic Signal
APPROVE: Exploring the option of Everest Academy contracting with the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, through Independence Township for one liaison officer and the possibility of sharing the cost; 80% paid by Everest Academy for 9 months of service and 20% paid for by Independence Township for 3 months while school is closed for the summer months
APPROVE: Purchase Agreement for the purchase of Parcel ID No. 08-16-200-005, which is a vacant 38.38-acre parcel located on Perry Lake Road, in Independence Township for the purchase price of $350,000.00 and an earnest money deposit of $25,000.00 and authorize the Township Supervisor to execute the Purchase Agreement; and following the Township’s due diligence period, authorize the Township Supervisor to take all steps necessary to close on the subject Property
BUDGET SESSION: Review 2024 Budgets: Fire CIP, Fire, Police, CIA, CDBG, Independence TV, Safety Path CIP, Safety Path, N. Sashabaw Debt Service and Walters Lake
CLOSED SESSION: Discuss the Purchase of Real Property Pursuant to the Michigan Open Meetings Act, MCL 15.268(h)
