The North Oakland Headwaters Land Conservancy is hosting a Songbird Soirée Fundraiser and Gala on Friday, Oct. 4, at the Lafayette Grande Banquet Facility, celebrating 47 years of wetlands-preservation efforts.
Based in Clarkston, the conservancy works to protect more than 1,500 acres of public and private land surrounding the headwaters of the Clinton, Shiawassee, Huron and Flint rivers.
The annual Wild Night Out fundraiser and gala includes a buffet dinner, cash bar, live and silent auctions, wine pull, Great Dine Out raffle, and live acoustic folk entertainment.
Premier live auction items include a Butterfly Sanctuary Trip to Mexico with butterfly expert Brenda Dziedzic to witness the monarch migration, Birding Excursion to Magee Marsh led by PhD ecologist and long-time birder Dr. Peter Blank, which includes accommodations, and a Cabin Getaway to Old Mission Peninsula.
Tickets are $75 each with all proceeds going toward supporting the conservation work of NOHLC. For more information, call 248-795-2808 or buy tickets online at NOHLC.org.
