Kids are invited to admire, sit in, and climb a wide variety of trucks provided by local companies at Tons of Trucks, Saturday, Aug. 5, from 10 a.m. through 1 p.m. at Clintonwood Park, 6000 Clarkston Road.
Independence Township Parks, Recreation and Seniors hosts the annual event. Trucks signed up so far include Iscream4icecream, Independence Fire Department, Water Resources Commissioner, USA Insulation, Springfield Township Fire Department, Oakland County Sheriff, Bowman Chevrolet, Two Men and a Truck, and Heartfelt Impressions.
The first 200 children to arrive at the park will receive a free, festive hat. Activities also include visiting with Bob the Builder, crafts with The Arts and Scraps Mobile, and Project KidSight vision screenings with Clarkston Area Lions.
Tickets are $3/youth in advance, $5/youth at the event; free for adults. Pre-register before Aug. 4 at the main office, 6483 Waldon Center Drive. Call 248-625-8223 for more information.
