Two Independence Township men face up to 25 years in prison after an early-morning drug raid, May 12.
Investigators with Oakland County Narcotics Enforcement Team (NET) executed a search warrant at about 5:40 a.m. in the 5000 block of Fox Creek North, in the Fox Creek apartment complex in Independence Township.
Deputies found the two suspects, Kentral Cordero Bell, 28, and Nathaniel Wilkerson-Lemos, 20, to be home in their respective bedrooms.
Investigators conducted a thorough search of the residence and found 92.0 grams of heroin, which is over three ounces, 13.5 grams of crack cocaine, two grams of marijuana, two digital scales with cocaine and heroin residue, Arizona Ice Tea can with false bottom containing some of the heroin and crack, new and used packaging, proofs for the two suspects, small spoon for heroin, small safe, and $10,000 in cash.
Following the execution of the search warrant, investigators arrested the two suspects and lodged them at the Oakland County Jail.
During the investigation, investigators learned a “Bell” filed a Home Invasion report with deputies from the Independence substation on April 3, 2016.
Numerous reportedly stolen items were found at Bell’s residence. Deputies also seized a receipt from a jewelry store indicating Bell traded a Rolex watch, which was reported stolen, for a new Rolex, which was seized. The store has been notified and is holding the watch.
Bell was charged with Controlled Substance – Delivery/Manufacture of cocaine, heroin or another narcotic, 50 to 449 grams, punishable by up to 20 years in prison and/or $250,000 fine; Controlled Substance, Delivery/Manufacture of cocaine, heroin or another narcotic, Less than 50 grams, up to four years and/or $25,000 fine; and Possession of Marijuana, up to a year in prison.
He was arraigned before Magistrate Chiappelli of the 52-2 District Court and was given a $50,000 cash bond and, upon release, monitored by pre-trial services.
Wilkerson-Lemos was charged with Controlled Substance, Delivery/Manufacture of cocaine, heroin or another narcotic, 50 to 449 grams; and Controlled Substance, Delivery/Manufacture of cocaine, heroin or another narcotic, less than 50 grams.
He was arraigned before Magistrate Schouman of the 52-2 District Court and was given a $5,000 cash bond, monitored by pre-trial services upon release.
