Two shutouts on ice

Clarkston Varsity Hockey closed the regular season with three wins last week which included two shutouts.
They opened the week with a 3-0 win over M-1 Griffins United, March 11.
Joe Reiss led with team with two goals. Sabre Koleber had one goal in the win. Dutch Snyder, Drew Stewart, Blake Bottril and Mathew Smith had one assist each.
Hunter Smith saved 11 shots on the net.
The Wolves followed it the next night with a 5-0 win over Utica Eisenhower. Ethan Adams had two goals in the win. Devon Collis had one goal and one assist. Tate Phares and Kolebar had one goal each.
Reiss, Mathew Phaneuf and Owen Croston each had two assists. Ryan Galligan and Snyder had one assist each. Hunter Smith saved all 14 shots on goal.
The Wolves closed the regular season on Saturday with a 4-3 win over Lake Orion.
Goals came from Galligan, Collis, Botrill and Phares. Phaneuf had two assists in the game. Brandon Clements, Cristian Walk, Bredan Fredrick, Gino Giannini, Adams and Croston each had one assist.
Clarkston made 32 shots on the net and Hunter Smith saved 24 shots.
The Wolves (6-7-1, 2-6-1 OAA Red) play Hartland on Thursday in the MHSAA Division 2 Ice Hockey Regional 12 Semifinal, 7 p.m. The winner moves on to the regional final on Saturday, 2 p.m. Both games are at Hartland Sports Center.
