Resolution to Proceed with
Improvements to Walters Lake
At a special meeting of the Walters Lake Improvement Board held at the Charter Township of Independence Hall on the 27th day of June 2018 at 6:00 p.m.
PRESENT: Brown, Mattise, Middleton, and Felicelli
ABSENT: Kohn
The following resolution was offered by member Middleton and seconded by member Brown.
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on the improvement program for Walters Lake; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Walters Lake Improvement Board to proceed with implementation of a five-year improvement program (2019 to 2023) consisting of nuisance aquatic plant control, plant control coordination/surveys, fish stocking, information and education, administration, and contingencies with an annual budget of $50,600.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT:
- The Lake Board hereby determines that the proposed improvements are practical, and it confirms its intent to proceed with the improvements.
- The Lake Board hereby approves the lake improvement plan and the estimate of costs for the improvements.
- This resolution shall be published in a newspaper of general circulation in Oakland County. The project shall not, thereafter, be subject to attack except in an action brought in a court of competent jurisdiction within 30 days after publication.

TAKE NOTICE that the Walters Lake Improvement Board has confirmed a Special Assessment Roll for improvements to Walters Lake. The Special Assessment Roll in the amount of $227,950 has been prepared for the purpose of assessing the cost of nuisance aquatic plant control, plant control coordination/surveys, fish stocking, information and education, administration, and contingencies over a five-year period (2019 to 2023). Said Special Assessment Roll and all assessments thereon are final and conclusive unless attacked in a court of competent jurisdiction within 30 days of this notice.
This notice is being published pursuant to Part 309 of the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act, PA 451 of 1994, as amended.
