Oxford High School hosted yet another successful wrestling invitational on Sat., Jan. 3 – and the grapplers once again proved they have the right stuff by taking the top position at the ten team tournament.
The Wildcats took first with 160.5 points. Armada came in second with 139.5, Imlay City third with 98, Swartz Creek fourth with 91.5 and Chelsea fifth with 90.5.
Winning their divisions were Kyle Oliver, at 215 pounds, and Kyle Rowley, 189 pounds. Taking second place finishes were Mike Potter at 152, Shawn Gall at 135 and Ron Mantel at 130. Finishing in third place for the Cats were Nathan Musgrove at 112, Mike May at 119 and Matt Duncan at 125.
The Wildcats are home tonight (Wednesday) against Grand Blanc, and then hit the road on Sat., Jan. 10, to compete against Avondale.
