Wolves place at meets

Runners gear up for the final OAA Red Jamboree this Thursday at Clintonwood Park.
The Clarkston High School Cross Country teams ran against some of their league competition in the Oxford Invitational last Friday to prepare for the meet.
The boys varsity team finished in sixth place out of 16 teams with 191 points.
Senior Jacob Carusello led the pack, finishing in 28th place at the time of 18:09.4. The top five runners also included junior Valen Kurmaniak in 38th place, 18:23.1; senior Bill Osmun, 39th place, 18:25.7; freshman Henry Poploskie, 46th place, 18:35.1; and senior Luke Snudden, 56th place, 18:47.6.
The top five teams included Rochester Adams in first place with 63 points; Lake Orion, second, 66; Oxford, third, 87; Davison, fourth, 89; Lapeer, fifth, 170.
The boys JV team finished in seventh place out of ten team with 226 points.
Sophomore Hunter Bogar led the pack, finishing in 40th place, 19:58.7. The top five runners also included junior Max Kirby, 20:39.1; freshman Aiden Rosser, 22:05.1; freshman Jake Roth, 22:20.8′ and freshman Isaac Rucker, 22:22.9.
The girls varsity team finished in eighth place out of 15 teams with 201 points.
Freshman Cate Cotter led the pack, finishing in 25th place at 21:45.7. The top five runners also included sophomore Elise Wilhelm in 26th place, 21:45.9; freshman Rebekah Wilson, 56th place, 22:58.5; sophomore Mackenzie Montigano, 57th place; 22:58.6; and junior Maya Bergman, 59th place, 22:59.6.
The top five teams included Oxford in first place with 80 points; Rochester Adams, second, 83; Davison, third, 98; Lake Orion, fourth, 130; and Marysville, fifth, 134.
The girls JV team finished in fifth place out of ten teams with 150 points.
Freshman Maya Brown led the pack, finishing in 25th place, 24:41.5. The top five runners also included freshman Brooke Hodgins, 25:05.9; junior Kelsey Roth, 25:23.2; senior Jennifer Starnes, 26:13.7; and freshman Elke Roeser, 26:27.
The Wolves hosted the Clarkston Jamboree on October 9. The boys from Clarkston Junior High School finished in third place in the 2-mile varsity race with 84 points and the boys from Sashabaw finished in fourth place with 139 points.
The top five runners from CJHS were Brycen Lefief, in 11th place in the time of 12:36.4; Zac Montgomery, 13th place, 12:38.9; Bryce Nowik, 19th, 12:48.4; Matthew de Hesselle, 20th, 12:52.5; and Andrew Floros, 24th, 13:00.5.
The top five runners from SMS were Brendan Sesti in 14th place in the time of 12:39.9; Cayden DeGrendel, 31st, 13:12.4; Ethan Heist, 35th, Evan Savoie, 38th, 13:24.8; and Joshua Ellingsworth, 39th, 13:25.2.
The girls from CJHS finished in third place in the 2-mile varsity race with 72 points and Sashabaw finished in sixth place, 141 points.
The top five runners from CJHS were Alexandra Brigham, second place, 13:01; Kennedy Maraches, third, 13:09.4; Anna Reineck, 15th, 14:10.1; Morgan Poploskie, 24th, 14:27.8; and Nora Miller, 33rd, 14:57.7.
The top five runners from SMS were Lily Miles in 11th place, 13:51.2; Chloe Trotter, 13th, 14:03.4; Kendall Sieradski, 48th, 15:48.1; Ella Kurmaniak, 49th, 15:52.1; and Sydney Fischer, 52nd, 16:04.6.
