Women in Oxford now have a new choice for their personal health care through Drs. Donald Bradley, M.D., FACOG, PLLC, and Tammy Birbeck, D.O.
Bradley and Birbeck have opened Women’s Spectrum Health right in downtown Oxford to assist area women of all ages with a full range of services including obstetrics and gynecology.
“We are providing the full spectrum of women’s health care,” said Dr. Birbeck. “We are their doctor from when they enter their teenage years right to when they need a final one in their later years.”
The philosophy behind Bradley and Birbeck’s private practice is to deliver quality health care to women from the first stages of puberty right on through menopause.
In addition to the traditional obstetrics and gynecological care, the two doctors will be providing weight reduction programs and plans, cosmetic procedures and primary care services.
“We will have a dietician available for consultations,” said Bradley, “and we will refer out for surgeries as needed.”
Some of the cosmetic procedures being offered include skin resurfacing, hair removal and, in the future, laser treatments and Botox injections. Primary care services will include items such as cholesterol, thyroid and hypertension screenings. Patients can even receive assistance with health issues such as urinary incontinence or “hot flashes.”
On top of all this, Bradley and Birbeck wanted to emphasize that they also have extensive experience in high risk obstetrics. This would include patients who are having a multiple pregnancy; have a history of previous early pregnancy loss or recurrent pregnancy loss; and those with high blood pressure, heart condition or diabetes.
“In a growing are such as this there is a real need for an Ob-Gyn offering these services and we’re trying to fulfill that need,” said Birbeck.
“This area has the age groups we’re looking to target, both those women in child bearing years and those in their later years, and it really is an under served location,” added Bradley.
Dr. Bradley received his medical degree from Wayne State University. He has worked as a staff physician for St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, North Oakland Medical Center, Metro Medical Group and Health Alliance Plan. He holds several certifications including one for the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Bradley is a Diplomat of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, member of the Oakland County Medical Society, member of the Michigan Medical Society, member of the National Medical Society, member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine and member of the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons. He also belongs to several committees.
Dr. Birbeck received her bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Hope College and her doctorate from the Michigan State University Osteopathic School.
She has previous extensive nursing experience and worked for six year in Grand Rapids. She completed her residency this past June at St. Joseph Mercy in Pontiac.
Birbeck is a member of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the American College of Osteopathics Obstetrics and Gynecology, and American Osteopathic Association.
