Jean C. GREENACRE

GREENACRE, Jean C.; of Clarkston; April 23, 2018; age 92; preceded in death by her husband Walter and brother John Hile; loving mother of Sandra (Donald) Greenacre, Janice (David) Hynes and Lauren Greer; sister of Bob (Marilou) Kimple, Rich (the late Joan) Kimple, Hank (the late Dona) Kimple and Bill (Pat) Kimple; longtime friend and neighbor of Ruth and George Briggs. Jean was born and raised in Toledo, Ohio. She earned her Bachelor of Education from the University of Toledo in 1948 and her Master’s of Science in Business Education from the University of Wisconsin in 1953. She was an active member of the Delta Kappa Gamma sorority. Jean was a devoted teacher for 42 years. Her career began at Eastern Junior High in Pontiac, MI in 1948. She later transferred to Pontiac High School, then to Waterford Township High School where she spent the majority of her career. She ended her career at Waterford Mott High School in June 1990. Jean was an avid fan of the Detroit Tigers. In 1976 she enjoyed her first trip to Tiger Stadium to watch Mark “The Bird” Fidrych pitch. Jean loved to travel, especially her trips to Las Vegas and other casinos. Her adventures included a road trip through Mexico, cruising to Alaska, seeing the Boston Pops, fishing in Canada and visiting New York City. Jean enjoyed her time watching the birds at her backyard feeders and her many beloved critters, most importantly the sandhill cranes. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at a later date, details will be provided on our website. Arrangements entrusted to the Lewis E. Wint & Son Funeral Home, Clarkston.
