The Oakland County Sheriff’s Department is asking for help in trying to determine who’s responsible for an April 11 arson at Addison Oaks County Park.
The Michigan Arson Prevention Committee is offering up to $5,000 in a cash reward for information leading to the arrest or conviction of those responsible.
Detective Art Schrah, an OCSD fire investigator, said the arson took place around 7:16 p.m. at the disc golf course near the 16th hole. There, someone lit a hay wagon on fire.
Someone a few holes behind on the 24-hole disc golf course noticed the wagon burning and called authorities. The Addison Township Fire Department responded and extinguished the blaze.
Schrah hopes the cash reward will encourage someone with information to come forward. ‘It was a nice day and I’m sure there were people at the golf field who witnessed the event,? Schrah said. ‘Times are tough and someone could use extra money.?
