Campaign season is my favorite season, not because I love democracy, but because I love the beautiful campaign signs that appear everywhere. Campaign signs tell us who is running for office; this is valuable information because I don’t understand how to use the internet. Additionally, because I prefer candidates who waste money on frivolous things, these signs make it easy to decide: The person with the most signs gets my vote!
There are other benefits as well: By putting signs on my front lawn, I make my political preferences public, which makes it much easier for my neighbors to judge me. A polarized neighborhood is a happy neighborhood!
These signs also look fantastic. Some say they’re basically litter, but without them, we’d be stuck looking at all the flowers and lakes in our area, and who wants that?
Sometimes, I’m able to stop thinking about politics for almost two minutes. Thankfully, campaign signs are here to remind me. I wish we could leave them up all year!
