Mmmmm…chocolate!

After a whole month of reading book, after book, after book, students at Daniel Axford Elementary spent last Friday celebrating their accomplishment.
DA students read a total of 144,207 minutes since mid-January for their Reading Wonderland month of reading program.
First-grader Parker Fleming read the most, with a total of 1,645 minutes.
Other top readers were David Fredericks, with 1,519 minutes for the second grade class, and Sean Titus, with 1,235 minutes for the kindergarten classes.
On Friday, the students got to travel from room to room for special events as a reward for their hard work.
One room had a chocolate fountain, where students could dip bananas, pretzels and marshmallows for a tasty treat. Other rooms got to play winter BINGO and make an igloo out of torn paper.
