Addison’s fitting tribute

It couldn’t have been more poetic last Saturday at Lakeville Cemetery’s Memorial Day observance.
The day started with pouring ran and muddy grass, but as the Oxford Middle School Select Ensemble began to sing the National Anthem, the rain clouds broke free and the sun shone down.
Sponsored by the Lakeville Cemetery Auxiliary Society, the service began with flags being raised by members of the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 133 and the Addison Township Fire Department, followed by a 21 gun salute by the 338 Army Band.
The somber sound of Taps was played by Staff Sgt. Kim Farrante and Scott Sutphin played a beautiful and emotional rendition of ‘Amazing Grace? on the bagpipes.
The Lakeville Cemetery ceremony was a fitting tribute to all of our veterans who have lost their lives to serve our great country.
