The Varsity Boys and Girls Track and Field teams shook the winter dust from their running shoes and participated in the 2009 Oakland County Indoor Meet on Wed, March 18.
The event turned out to be successful for the Wildcats as the Varsity girls had three girls finish in the top three in four different events. Junior Kate Wolanin finished second in both the 60 meter hurdles and the high jump, while Junior Molly Bonifiglio placed second in the pole vault. The Wildcat relay team of Kara Charles, Brooke Bocquet, Brittany Moncrieff and Hanah George finished third in the 800 meter relay.
The Varsity boys came out the meet with a strong start to their season, taking first two events. Sophomore Ralph Rodriguez claimed victory in the shot put while Junior Austin Westmoreland took the top honors for the pole vault. The Boys 1600 meter relay team of Spencer Britt, Daniel Peck, Kevin Jickling and Joe Bell finished second.
