Club raises funds for football

The Oxford Football Club is inviting everyone to become members and help support the football program.
‘Everyone in the community is welcome to join,? said President of the Oxford Football Club Jim Reis.
The main focus of the team is promoting football. The money that is generated from the Football Club will be used to help out Coach Rowley with the football equipment.
‘Football equipment is so expensive…reconditoning helmets and shoulder pads for all levels 7th through 12th grade; whatever funds we get, that’s what it goes to? said Jim.
Since the club’s inception over the summer, it already has 120 members.
The club was Coach Rowley’s idea. The club is sperate from the team since it is a nonprofit organization. The club’s motto: Oxford Football 24/7…Remember, have some fun.
‘It’s up to us to be the community organization and fundraising,? Reis said.
One of the big fundraisers that the club will be doing is selling membership into the club, which includes seats in a designated area at the home football games.
There are four levels of membership that one can join, Bronze, Silver, Gold and Captains Club. Each level varies in the amount of membership items one receives.
The bronze level is $25 and the members receives a t-shirt and car window sticker.
The silver level is $50 and the member receives a t-shirt, hat, car window sticker and special seating in the bleachers for all home games.
The gold level is $100, and the member receives a golf shirt, hat, car window sticker and special seating in the bleachers for all home games.
The Captains Club is $150, and members receive everything in the gold level with two regular season tickets per home game and pizza night with the players after one game.
The Club also sells programs, 50/50 raffle tickets and Oxford football gear at the games. Another fundraiser is the coupon packet, which, for $15, you receive coupons for 12 locally-owned Oxford merchants.
Some potential fundraisers the blub is looking to do include a golf outing, a poker tournament and various halftime events.
The club does more than fundraisers, it also helps support the team by creating fire-ups, which are signs with player’s numbers that they hang on the players lockers and in the hallway to help get the team pumped up for the game. Rhonda Kurkowski is in charge of the fire-ups and spirit gear.
Reis wanted to thank Oxford Athletic Director Mike Watson and Superintendent Dr. William Skilling for allowing this program to happen. Reis also wanted to thank all of the sponsors for their continual support. ‘We couldn’t have done it without them,? he said.
‘What we are looking for is community involvement and community support because two or three people can’t do this. It takes members and that’s what were looking for is members. We need help,? Jim said.

‘There is a lot of work to be done…if we can get more parents involved to help it’s a good thing,? said Jim.
