Cats win dogfight with Brandon

So far this season, the Varsity Girls Volleyball team has had their way with Flint Metro League teams.
But Brandon didn’t care about that and gave the girls a dogfight through four games before eventually falling to the Wildcats three games to one on Tuesday, Sept. 29.
‘Our performance was sluggish at best. Brandon put up a huge fight, we were lucky to get this one,? said Head Coach Kristi McDevitt.
Senior Marissa Manzella had 13 kills for the Wildcats, while Senior Valerie Anderson recorded nine kills and three blocks. Junior Paige Felisky contributed with 19 kill assists.
McDevitt still wants to see improvement from her team, especially since they play undefeated Lapeer East this week. ‘We have to make sure we continue to improve…if we are to keep our hopes alive for a league title, or a share of it, we have to beat East.?
The win improves the girls record to 4-1 in the FML, one game behind Fenton and Lapeer East.
The girls will also play in the Oxford Invite on Saturday, Oct. 10.
