On Thursday, Oct. 13, the Wildcats ended their season with an away game at Flint Carman-Ainsworth, which they won 4-0.
Garavaglia opened up the scoring five minutes into the first half following a feed from Wysocki. Wysocki added his second assist of the game when he found Kitchner rushing in, who calmly collected the ball and put it in the back of the net.
The Wildcats would go up by three towards the end of the first half when senior captain Ben Magdaleno scored on a penalty kick following junior Noah Stevens being taken down inside the 18-yard box.
In the second half, the Wildcats used some quick passing to apply constant pressure on Carman-Ainsworth. Additionally, Wildcat defenders would only allow one shot in the second half. Senior Tyler Mayes would score Oxford’s final goal.
The Wildcats ended the regular season with an 11-4-3 record. They face Davison, at Davison, in the opening round of district play.
According to varsity head coach John Thaler, Davison wound up winning the Big Nine conference title.
‘They are a decent side, (but) we have a few scouting reports that should help us,? Thaler said. ‘If we stick to the game plan we will do fine.?
