Clintonville Road is scheduled to close between Waldon Road and Clarkston Road in Independence Township from Monday, Oct. 1, until Monday, Oct. 8.
The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) issued a permit allowing Pulte Homes developers to close Clintonville Road, which carries 6,030 vehicles per day, just north of the Oakhurst entrance in order to install a bypass lane. The developer is widening the road at its new residential development.
“This is for the Pine Vista development, 79 single family condominium homes 1800-2300 square feet on 38.17 acres, age-targeted for empty-nesters,” said Brian M. Oppmann, planning and zoning manager for Independence Township.
The paving contractor for the project is Cadillac Asphalt of Clarkston.
The proposed detour for through traffic will be Waldon Road to Sashabaw Road to Clarkston Road, back to Clintonville Road and vice versa. Clintonville Road is expected to reopen to traffic on Oct. 8.
Plans for this project are available on the Independence Township website in the Development Planning Explorer Interactive Map, www.indetwp.com/departments/building/zoning_ordinance_and_map.php.
